The Weston’s Gettin’ Tight Charter Story
How did our Florida Adventures Start you may ask. Well it started with Covid! Yes aren’t we all sick of that darn word. We know we sure are. But in all reality us as a family are thankful for parts of it. This brings us to how our story starts with not being allowed to travel. Yep we have all experienced it someway or somehow I’m sure. We as a family didn’t like our warm sunny vacation being canceled against our own will. With that being said we decided to do something about it.
We originally were wanting to sell a couple of our businesses and buy a home either in Mexico or Hawaii. But with travel restrictions due to Covid stated above it brought Todd to start looking in Florida. Of course myself (Josie), our girls Rockie Jo and Zeiss didn’t mind where we went as long as we got out of our cold Minnesota state in the winter for a warm sunny vacation. It all started winter of 2019 when Our flights and hotel were canceled for Mexico, so winter of 2020 we decided to drive to florida and rent a boat and a VRBO in Marathon Florida. Such a beautiful city, always hustling and bustling with people. We stayed for a short two week period, mind you to me two weeks was a very long time. Looking back now not so much. Our time came and went in a flash. The boat we rented was unreliable and no fun so yep we of course had to drive to North Carolina in August of 2021 to buy our New Boat! Exciting I know right. But of course I told my hubby Todd I thought the boat was way too big, it was a 30 foot center console with twin Yamaha 300’s for motors. Who needs a boat that big I thought? Uff!!! I had to pull it you know behind the truck, talk about stressful. Fast forward to today I tell my hubby now that we need a bigger boat LOL. IRONIC!! Is he not the luckiest hubby on this planet? OK Back to the vacation.
So our first two weeks of Florida Keys vacationing was a success even with a crappy boat, so we then rented a VRBO for two months in the year 2022. We enjoyed one house for the month of March then moved to another house for the month of April. We loved it so much that we even found a house to stay at for the first week of May. Again fast forward to today we have now upgraded from renting a VRBO to purchasing our own home this past October. We closed October 6th a date I won’t forget, because it wasn’t an easy process. Like I said above we sold two business so with all of that in the mix it took about 55 days to close the sale on our new home. It was all worth it even though we had given up a few times!!!! Our new home is located in Big Pine Key Florida and we absolutely love it for more reasons than one. Stay tuned…….
